Gel manicure remains last for 10 days to 3 weeks. Gel nail paint can’t take away with
nail polish remover even after 30 minutes of soaking. Gel manicure can be taking it off at home without tarnishing your nails.
You will need following stuff for gel removal:
1. 100% Acetone nail polish remover
2. Cotton balls/pads
3. Aluminum foil
4. Nail Filer
5. Nail Buffer
6. Wood nail stick
7. Moisturizer
Procedure:
Step 1: With nail filer start sanded off the top shiny layer of polish so that nail looks matte.
Step 2: Protect your cuticles and fingertips with Vaseline, balm or a thick cream. This will provide protection from the acetone, which make your skin dry.
Step 3: Douse cotton ball in acetone and round the cotton ball on your fingernail. Wrap that finger and pad tightly with aluminum foil (tighter the foil, the better it is). Follow the same process to all fingers. Allow the acetone applied on nail bed at least for 20 minutes to dissolve the gel properly.
Step 4: Slide the foil and wipe off the gel with firm finger-pressure only and use a wood nail stick to scrape off the residue of gel polish gently. Repeat with each of your nails.
Please do it carefully as aggressively pulling, peeling and scraping gel polish off incorrectly - can be extremely harmful.
Step 5: With nail buffer, buff off any remaining polish with smooth strokes.
Step 6: Wash your hands to remove any dust and moisturize your skin with Vaseline or Balm to
your cuticles and gently rub it onto your nail beds as the acetone and buffing will weaken the nail bed and dry the skin.
