1. Honey

Honey is one of the most natural remedy for cough. Honey can work efficiently to calm a cough. One should take a tablespoon of honey, mix it into the warm milk and drink it. It will give you relief.

2. Ginger

Ginger is a common ingredient used to cure cough. Ginger works as an expectorant. It also leaves a cleansing effect on your system.  The ideal way to use the ginger is to take a fresh piece of ginger, chop it and crush them completely. Add it to water and then start boiling. Let it cool slightly. You should take it at least thrice in a day for better relief.

3. Garlic

Garlic is an effective anti-bacterial and expectorant home remedy to fight against cough. It makes your immune system strong and helps to fight with infections that cause cough.

Take few garlic cloves, crush them lightly and add it into boiling water. While it’s boiling, add a teaspoon of oregano into the mixture. Once cooled off, add a tablespoon of honey into the mixture and take twice in a day.

4. Turmeric

An active agent that has strong anti-bacterial, anti-viral properties that most people swear by use the hot milk with turmeric.

Boil a glass of water, add a teaspoon of turmeric powder and mix it with the equal amount of carom seeds. Now boil the mixture until it remains half of it. Add a little honey, into the mixture and take thrice in a day. You can drink this with warm milk to relief from cough.

5. Steam

Steam helps you to improve your condition from cough and one of the best home remedy.

For taking steam you need a bowl of water, a towel and a couple of drops of tea tree oil. Boil water in a bowl and take steam 5-10 minutes twice in a day. Your head must be covered with a towel for better effects.
